Release and Renewal

Updated: Sep 7
If you have been feeling a weight of overwhelm or a sense of collective exhaustion, know that you are not alone. This celestial alignment is a time to gently loosen our grip on what no longer serves the soul. |
Has this week felt like a lot to you too? Demands from every direction. Schedules stacking on top of each other. Summer trying to squeeze out its last few days while backpacks and school supplies quietly take over the house. If you’ve felt more tired, more sensitive, or more “on” than usual this week, you are very much not alone. It seems like I went from blissful strolls in the woods to jet setting. And tonight, the sky offers an explanation. Endings, on purposeTonight brings a full moon in Pisces, deepened by a partial lunar eclipse — the final eclipse in a two-year cycle that’s been quietly working on all of us since 2024. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, the one connected to endings, compassion, intuition, and the soft edge between what we can explain and what we can only feel. Whether or not you follow the stars closely, it’s worth noticing what this particular moon is associated with: closing an old chapter, releasing what’s no longer meant to stay, and making room for something that hasn’t fully taken shape yet. What’s been quietly buried has a way of surfacing around a moon like this — old grief, old patterns, old tension disguised as ordinary irritation. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that so many of us are also feeling stretched thin by ordinary life this week. Endings are rarely convenient. They tend to arrive right in the middle of everything else. You don’t have to force this oneThis isn’t a moon for pushing, deciding, or forcing clarity. It’s a moon for feeling, releasing, and trusting that some things finish on their own timeline. If your nervous system is asking for rest instead of action this week, that’s not a failure to keep up. That may be exactly the invitation. |
Breathing in Peace Honoring the fluid, restorative energy of Pisces, we offer this simple moon-inspired practice to anchor you through transitions. INHALING RELEASE • EXHALING TRANSFORMATION This takes about three minutes, tonight or whenever you next see the sky.
1. Step outside, or find a window where you can see even a sliver of sky. 2. Take a slow breath in, and imagine you’re breathing in a little of the moon’s wide, quiet perspective — the view from somewhere far enough away that tonight’s chaos looks smaller. 3. As you exhale, silently name one thing from this week you’re ready to set down, even just for tonight. 4. Take one more breath in, and this time, let it be a breath of appreciation — for whatever this season has given you, hard or easy. 5. Before you go back inside, look at the moon once more and let it hold whatever you just named. You don’t have to do anything else with it tonight. That’s the whole practice. You don’t need a ritual, a belief system, or a clear sense of what’s ending. You just need three minutes and a bit of sky. |
