A grounded, accessible ritual space
This doesn’t need to be complicated. The purpose of the altar is simply to create a small physical space that represents renewal, balance, and new beginnings. Whenever you walk by, it shows your brain what to focus on, bringing your attention to what matters.
Choose a small table, tray, or area where you can place a few meaningful items.
You might include:
A candle This represents the returning light. When you light the candle, you are acknowledging that more light is entering both the natural world and your own life. Perhaps it reminds you of your internal flame, or it awakens a fire within you.
Something from nature A branch, flowers, leaves, stones, or even a bowl of soil. This reminds us that we are part of nature’s cycle of growth and renewal. Even the dead leaves of fall nurture the seeds, so don't underestimate the power of your presence, just as you are.
Seeds or something that symbolizes growth Seeds, a small plant, or even a piece of fruit. This represents what is beginning to grow in your life. The seed inherently pushes toward the light.
A bowl of water Water symbolizes flow, emotional renewal, and nourishes our life force.
A journal or piece of paper This is where you can write down what you want to nurture in the coming season.
You don’t need all of these items. Even one candle and something from nature is enough.
The intention is simply to create a small moment where you pause and acknowledge the shift of the season.
Spring Equinox Journaling Reflection
Reflect → Reset → Grow
After some connection to your items, perhaps some listening time, take a few minutes to journal. Let your answers be simple and honest.
Reflection
Looking back over the past few months:
• What have I learned about myself recently?
• What challenges helped me grow?
• What feels complete or ready to be released?
Reset
The equinox is a moment of balance.
• Where in my life do I want to create more balance?
• What would help my nervous system feel more supported right now?
• What habits or patterns am I ready to let go of?
Grow
Now turn toward the season ahead.
• What energy do I want to invite into this new season?
• What qualities do I want to embody more fully?
• What is one small step I can take to support what wants to grow in my life?
You might close this reflection by writing one simple intention:
“This season I am nurturing…”
Let that be your guiding seed for the coming months.
